Education for Developing Countries 1973-1985 |
Professor Mark Bray : lecturer 1984 - 1985Mark recalls his personal connections with the department spanning three eras: EDC/DICE/EID. "As a student at the University of Edinburgh in the 1970s I had informal contact with EDC, and much admired its many activities and leadership of the field. Subsequently I moved to Papua New Guinea, and then in 1984 I was privileged to be offered a lectureship in EDC. That was a very exciting period for me, which included the transition from EDC to merger with Comparative Education to become DICE. In 1986 I moved to Hong Kong, but I am very glad to have been able to keep in touch. Over the years, the Department in its various manifestations has had a very far-reaching impact on many people, places and societies." Back to Recollections 1973-1985Back to Recollections overview |
